Be sure to mark your calendars as the Vinings Historic Preservation Society is celebrating its twentieth anniversary this year. To commemorate this special occasion, VHPS will host a Celebration of Preservation cocktail and dinner party commemorating the Society’s preservation efforts. The evening will also honor the family of the late Felix Cochran, the developer of Vinings Jubilee. Felix’s vision was to build a town center that would feature turn-of-the century architecture celebrating the community’s colorful past.
The exquisite affair will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2013, 7:00pm at The Historic Pace House and Old Pavilion on Paces Mill Road.
VHPS kicked off the Keeping Pace Capital Campaign in November 2012 with the Keeping Pace Welcome Aboard Gala. The campaign’s goal is to raise $250,000 over two years for much needed restoration and repairs of our three historic properties. To date we have raised $100,000 and have completed several projects. We appreciate the generosity of the many donors and especially thank our Founding Patrons of the Keeping Pace Capital Campaign: Karen and David DeRuyter, Carol and Karl Fillip, Susan and Dean Morris, Anita Shippen and Anonymous.
The party will benefit the VHPS Keeping Pace capital campaign, now in its second year of fundraising to support much needed restoration of the historic buildings located in the center of Vinings Village and under the care of VHPS.
The affair will be designed by Avenue Event Design and will feature the creative cuisine of Avenue Catering Concepts, both divisions of Saratoga Event Group. The event Chairs, Holly Gardner, Josie Carlyle and Rebecca McCune promise an evening to remember.
