Arbor Day in Georgia is Friday, February 20, but will be celebrated in Smyrna on Saturday, February 21 with two events.

The first will be at the Smyrna Community Center at 10:00 a.m. with a presentation from Georgia Forestry Commission Senior Urban Forester, Joe Burgess. The program is titled “Tree Risk…Before and After the Storm.” He will answer your questions about trees. The Smyrna Tree Board and Keep Smyrna Beautiful volunteers will entertain children in a nearby room wit a Tree Blocks building area, tree necklace/ornament making center, and tree coloring pages. Light refreshments will be served. Please call 770-431-2863 to learn more and to let us know you will be attending.

At 2:00 p.m. in the Smyrna Library, Tree Board member Kate Conner will be with Library Staff for a child-friendly tree talk and a free featured movie, “The Lorax,” from the children’s book by Dr. Suess.

Please plan to join us.
