As I’m sure you know, Smyrna Vinings does not hold their own fireworks show on July 4th. Our big fireworks show comes up during the upcoming Smyrna Birthday celebration on Saturday, August 4th. So if you’re wanting a fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day, here are some of the options in metro Atlanta.
Legendary 4th at Lenox Square Mall
Atlanta’s Lenox Square is home to the Southeast’s largest celebration, attracting more than 200,000 people annually. Lenox Square’s annual event is patriotic fun with family-friendly live musical entertainment on the mall’s outdoor main stage. Culminating the evening will be the signature fireworks display, featuring thousands of fireworks bursting in air for approximately 20 minutes, accompanied by a patriotic musical soundtrack. The fireworks display starts at approximately 9:35 p.m.
4th of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park
Come celebrate Centennial Olympic Park’s 4th of July Celebration with a night of fun and entertainment for the entire family, including downtown Atlanta’s best fireworks display. Park gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks start at approximately 9:40 p.m. The finale of the evening is Centennnial Olympic Park’s Fireworks Spectacular, Atlanta’s best fireworks display synchronized to a special selection of patriotic and popular music.
Decatur’s Pied Piper Parade, Concert & Fireworks on the 4th
Join Decatur’s July 4th Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown Decatur. Decorate your wagon, ride your bike, skate, or walk in this event. The City Commissioners will lead the parade in the mini-firetruck. Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to make floats and join the fun. Parade line-up is at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m. It ends at the Community Bandstand on the square with a presentation of colors and the Star Spangled Banner. The fireworks display starts at dark.
Roswell’s 13th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza
Show your patriotism by celebrating our Country’s Independence Day in Roswell with entertainment and a breathtaking fireworks display. This year’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Roswell High School located on King Road off of SR 92. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. At dark, a beautiful 30-minute fireworks display will be the highlight of the evening. Bring your chairs, blankets and picnics for an old fashion family outing.
July 4th Festivities and Fireworks at Wills Park in Alpharetta
Children’s activities begin at 4pm on the event lawn, behind the Alpharetta Community Center. Entertainment from local bands will be from 6pm to 9pm behind the Community Center. The fireworks show begins at dusk.
Red, White and Brew Beer Fest at the Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium is hosting a Fourth of July celebration. Sample great beer and enjoy a classic 4th of July barbeque at the coolest location in the city to view the Centennial Olympic Park firework show. Live music compliments of the Yacht Rock Schooner. Tickets are $55 per person.
Marietta Fourth of July Celebration on the Marietta Square
The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.
Stone Mountain Park: 45th Annual Fantastic Fourth Celebration
