Alternative maps for the South Cobb County elementary school redistricting have been released.
The purpose of the Round 2 public forums is to present the alternative redistricting maps as well as data (data sheets) related to those alternative maps. The Round 2 public forums will take place as listed below:
Tuesday, October, 25th at 6:30 p.m. at Pebblebrook High School for Phase 1 schools
Wednesday, October, 26th at 6:30 at Campbell High School for Phase 2 schools.

These maps present alternatives for the redistricting of elementary schools in the south county region of the school district. Each map is different in some way from the other map.
However, consistent in each map is a heavy bold black line that divides the maps into two areas and two phases of implementation. Schools on the west side of the bold black line will be part of the Phase 1 implementation that will become effective in August, 2012. Since, the new Smyrna elementary school and the addition to Nickajack Elementary will not be finished until sometime in 2013, the east side of the bold black line will be part of the Phase 2 implementation of the south county redistricting, effective in August, 2013.
These maps are being presented to the public as alternatives so that we may receive community input regarding the redistricting options. After the public forums and a review of the input regarding the maps, a final proposed redistricting map will be developed. This final map may not be an exact replication of either of the maps that are now proposed, but instead may be a hybrid of the maps.
There are several ways that input regarding these maps may be provided.
1. Attending the public forums and addressing your concerns to the administrative staff at those meetings.
2. Adding your comments to the “Public Comment Wall” located at the “2011 CCSD Redistricting” web page.
