August 13, 2011 at 10 am, please join the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation (SPSF) in conjunction with Smyrna Police Department and the Smyrna Fire Department in the first annual Smyrna Public Safety Benevolent Fund Motorcycle & Classic Car Ride, at Smyrna Police Headquarters, 2646 Atlanta Rd SE, Smyrna, GA.
The SPSF Benevolent Fund was established to support Smyrna’s public safety personnel in need. All money raised for the Benevolent Fund will only be used to assist personnel in need.
In November of 2010, Officer Jed Minyard was badly injured in an on-duty motorcycle accident, causing massive damage to his right leg, and requiring multiple surgeries and skin grafts. Jed is still on a long road to recovery, and it is still unknown if he will regain full use of his leg. As you can imagine, this has put a strain on him and his family.
Registration starts at 10 am and the ride departs from Smyrna Police Headquarters at 11 am. The 45-mile ride will end at Cobb Park in Smyrna on Sanford Place where there will be live entertainment, raffles, food and fun.
The SPSF in partnership with Earl Small’s Harley Davidson will be raffling off a 2012 Street Glide, to raise money for the Foundation’s Benevolent Fund. The fund is used to help Smyrna public safety personnel, police and fire, in need.
$20 per motorcycle, $10 passenger, $10 t-shirt and $5 for lunch.
