Step back in time on Saturday, October 25 and enjoy an event filled day at The Mable House. The Friends of the Mable House present their 9th Annual Storytelling Festival from 11am until 4pm on the grounds of the Historic Mable House.

Nationally renowned storyteller, JoAnna Maddox will delight guests of all ages with songs and stories from the 1800’s. Former President, Jimmy Carter, was recently entertained with JoAnna’s stories at his 83rd birthday party.

Storyteller, Josie Bailey, will be back with her wonderful Uncle Remus tales of Brer Rabbit and all his friends (urr..enemies). Other entertainment will include a puppet show about Robert Mable immigrating to America and building his farm, African drummers, lots of music, Native American stories and projects, and old fashioned games and toys.

Learn some fun facts about South Cobb history as you make crafts and learn skills from the 1800’s. Ever made your own butter? You’ll find lots of fun things for children and adults of all ages. Watch demonstrations of pottery making, blacksmithing, wood carving, weaving and crocheting. Make your own dolls and shuck corn.

Kids of all ages will love the petting zoo (12:30-2:30). Ever seen a mini cow? We’ll have wagon rides, barbecue and more.

Bring the whole family and remember – it’s all FREE! See you at the Mable House.
