2019 Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival
The 2019 Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival returns on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. and will be held on the beautiful Village Green in downtown Smyrna next to the fabulous Smyrna Market Village. The festival has a history of over 29 years and will feature over 175 hand-made arts & crafts booths, 20 festival food booths, an entertainment stage, and a variety of children’s activities. Bring the family and shop, play, eat, drink and just have a great day together.
Friends of the Smyrna Library will have their book sale during the Spring Jonquil festival, so plan to get some phenomenal deals on all types of books imaginable.
Interactive Kids Zone: The huge interactive children’s area includes big and small inflatable activities, sand art, and more.
Jurassic Kingdom will have audiences roaring with excitement! Not only do patrons get to experience life like dinosaurs in ACTION, they also have the opportunity to touch and interact with them throughout the show! Meet fantastic characters such as Terry the talking, comical pterodactyl, Jack – a two month old Brontosaurus & many more!
Master of The Chainsaw: Brian Ruth – Brian Ruth, “Master of the Chainsaw”, will transform a raw, 2 foot long log into a true work of art with only a chainsaw. Ruth has been carving sculptures with a chainsaw for more than 20 years.
K-9’s In Flight are the country’s top premier K9 Sports entertainers, with over 15 years of professional experience. They have dazzled fans all across America and beyond. Audiences of all ages will be entertained by this non-stop, action-packed performance showcasing the top amazing K-9 sports, including high jump and Frisbee all in a fun, high-flying atmosphere.
RoboCars are unique and fun brightly colored, life-size, transforming robot vehicles currently featuring Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles and Tractors. Operator driven, they walk and drive creating endless excitement and photo opportunities for the whole family.
Peter Hart’s puppet show appeals to everyone in the audience with unique marionettes and puppet characters that sing, dance, juggle, play fiddle, break apart and come back together, squirt water, and are even launched by catapult across the stage! Patrons will enjoy interacting with Peter & his puppets through musical and comical performances.
Kids and adults alike will be thrilled to hear Scott Thompson of Peachtree Station performing all the songs you know and love on the Veteran’s Memorial grand lawn adjacent to the Spring Jonquil Food Court. Bring a blanket, sing-a-long, and relax in a beautiful setting with the family.
Artisans from all over the southeast feature their own hand-made crafts, paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry and much more.
The 2019 Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival foods include: cotton candy, candy apples, corn dogs, hand-dipped ice cream, snow cones, polish sausage, chicken sandwiches, and BBQ.
So whether it’s your child or the child in you, there are plenty of food and activities for the whole family to enjoy. The festival hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th and 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28th. Admission is FREE. Eat delicious food, shop, check out the puppet show, play and then relax on the Village Green lawn. The festival is a wonderful experience for the whole family!
And there’s MORE… Run for fun, education and pie at the Jonquil City Jog 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 27th at 8 a.m. The race starts and ends at Smyrna City Hall next to the Market Village and Village Green.
