The 2017 Marietta StreetFest, the 26th annual event, will be held on September 16 & 17, 2017 and focuses on the family with many free activities including arts & crafts booths, the Hubcaps and History Classic Car Show, a Kid’s Korner and Tiny Tot Town, the Toy Box Trot fun run and the Marietta Grassroots Music Festival. Each year, the festival draws more than 20,000 people to the Marietta Square, amid a variety of local shops, dining options and historic sites.
ART/CRAFT: 2017 Marietta StreetFest features arts and crafts from more than 75 vendors. From handcrafted items such as paintings, jewelry and pottery to market items such as jellies, jams and sauces, visitors will discover unique items throughout the festival from local, as well as national artists.
MUSIC: 2017 Marietta StreetFest attendees can grab their blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets and support local musicians. Organized by the Marietta Grassroots Music Festival, musical performances at Marietta StreetFest feature original music in a variety of genres by bands and singer/songwriters throughout the metro Atlanta area. www.grassrootsfest.com
CARS: Everyone loves casting a vote in the Hubcaps and History Classic Car Show, which features a wide variety of interesting and amazing classic cars. Winners are selected by popular vote and will be announced at the festival on Saturday at 3 p.m. Multiple awards will be handed out by our car show partner, Lenny’s Hair Salon.
MILITARY AND SPECIALITY VEHICLES: The Cruise-In will feature vintage and current military vehicles, motorcycles and specialty vehicles of all sizes, shapes and description.
KIDS: 2017 Marietta StreetFest includes plenty of kid-sized fun! The Kids Korner features “make and take” art stations, interactive games, inflatable slides and bounce houses. Young attendees can purchase a $5 wristband for unlimited play on the inflatables. There will be plenty of other fun and free activates, too, like an interactive Monster Mural giant coloring page, and for the smallest visitors, Tiny Tot Town offers pint-size toys, a mini-inflatable slide and cardboard houses.
RACE: The Saturday morning Toy Box Trot, a one-mile fun run, is open to all ages. At the completion of the race, each participant will select a toy, with the goal of continuing to encourage active play and serving as a fun memory of the accomplishment of finishing the run. Information booths with activity stations will be set up in the race area, and fun activities are planned prior to the race. Registration opens at 7:30 and the race begins at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16. For race registration, visit www.active.com (Toy Box Trot)
