The Steering Committee for the 2nd Annual Smyrna Auction for Heroes is soliciting submissions for a poster design for the fundraising benefit scheduled for Saturday, September 10, 2011, to be held at Brawner Hall in Brawner/Taylor Park, 3180 Atlanta Road, Smyrna, GA 30080, with proceeds benefiting the Smyrna Public Safety Foundation (SPSF). Submissions will be judged by the Committee.
What is the SPSF? The SPSF supports our Smyrna police officer and firefighter Heroes by purchasing equipment that is outside the City’s budget as well as funding public safety improvements, disaster recovery support, public service awards recognition, the annual “Shop with a Hero” event during the holiday season, and other much-needed programs.
The winning design may be used to promote the auction on posters, T-shirts, and souvenir merchandise, at the sole discretion of the Committee, with all proceeds benefiting the SPSF. The artist(s) of the winning design(s) will receive full credit for the design(s) and must sign over the copyright to the SPSF (see “Contest Rules” below). Winning artist(s) will be recognized in SPSF media releases and receive an invitation to the 2011 SPSF Annual Awards Banquet.
HERE’S WHAT TO DO:
Use your artistic imagination. The committee would like to see designs that reflect relevant elements of the fundraising event, such as the City of Smyrna, Smyrna police officers and firefighters serving as Heroes in our community, area businesses and residents working together for the fundraising event, and/or the work of the SPSF (see
http://www.SmyrnaPSF.org for information and/or to download a Poster Design Contest form). You need not include all of these elements nor be limited by them. Do not include the date, time, or location of the event. Appropriate text will be added by the committee.
1. Please download the entry form (here) and complete the requested information. You must return this sheet with your submission (keep a copy for yourself).
2. Submit your original design, no larger than 18 x 24, without folds or creases. Minimum size 8 x 10.
