Cobb Chamber Small Business of the Year
Smyrna’s K-9 Coach was named the 2011 Small Business of the Year at the Cobb Chamber’s June 6th First Monday Breakfast. Celebrating the longtime tradition of small businesses in Cobb County, this annual competition recognizes the Top 25 Small Businesses of the Year, one of which is named the finest Small Business of the Year. Business owners can nominate themselves or other businesses.
In order to be eligible, nominees were judged based on the following criteria:
- Be a member of the Cobb Chamber
- Be for profit
- Demonstrate an increase in sales and/or unit volume
- Have been in business at least three years
- Show evidence of contributions to community-oriented projects
- Comply with the U.S. Small Business Administration’s size standards in defining a small business.
K-9 Coach, founded by Certified Master Trainer and Certified Pet Dog Trainer Amber Burckhalter, is based in Smyrna and provides a comprehensive range of boarding, day care, grooming, retail and dog training and behavior modification services.
K-9 Coach, as the Cobb Chamber Small Business of the Year winner, will participate in the Georgia Small Business of the Year competition.
K-9 Coach is also participating in the Best of Smyrna Vinings Doggie Daycare poll currently ongoing.
