Zagat recently published an article about eateries that have a singular goal – concentrating on one thing and one thing only, and doing that thing very, very well.
They came up with some of the nation’s best shops that concentrate on one delicious item, whether it be cupcakes in New York, crepes in Georgia or sausage in California. Crepe Revolution in West Village made Zagat’s list of 9 Must-Try Single-Item Eateries.
Crepe Revolution sets out to create genuinely remarkable experiences for its patrons by creating an interactive dining experience.
Co-owners Neel Sengupta and Chef Robert Morneweck stumbled upon the idea of crepes. It was 2005 and Neel and Rob both worked in executive management positions within the restaurant industry and were both exploring ownership opportunities. Rob was interested in starting a personal chef service and Neel was interested in a chef training business for events. It was then that Neel made a trip up to his native home of Toronto and while at an 11,000 square foot marketplace full of individual kiosks he stumbled upon crepes.
As the name hints, Neel and Rob are reintroducing crepes with a noticeable twist – which they call the REVOLUTION. Crepes provide versatility. For proof, try their 5 Step Crepe Experience. Choose from almost two dozen vegetables, a dozen meats and seafood ingredients, seven cheeses and more than twenty sauces, spices and seasonings to create bold crepe creations. The choices are endless.
Neel and Rob are thrilled to be a part of the vibrant and flourishing Smyrna Vinings community and invite you to join them for lunch and dinner as well as brunch on Saturdays and Sundays. They are quick to point out that their restaurant and the concept is not at all positioned as French. In fact, due to the versatility of crepes, it is possible to visit for a variety of different tastes. Visit for American, Mexican, Asian, Regional American, Latin Inspired, Cajun, and even Italian…visit for whatever you’re in the mood for! That’s the versatility of crepes.
The decor is modern, urban contemporary with warm earth tones and world music. A full bar featuring select wines in combination with dimmed lights for the dinner crowd makes for an intimate dining experience great for a date. Crepe Revolution is also available for parties and special events.
