The Spring Jonquil Festival will be held again on the beautiful Village Green in downtown Smyrna, Georgia next to the Smyrna Market Village. This year the festival is so big it will span two months. (Actually it’s just the way the weekend hits the calendar this year.) The festival is on Saturday, April 30th from 10a.m.-6p.m. and on Sunday, May 1st from 12 p.m. – 5p.m.
The festival has a history of over 23 years and will feature over 150 hand-made arts & crafts booths, local non-profit companies, puppet shows, live music, plenty of festival foods, and all types of children’s activities. They will also have local entertainment on the stage in front of the library.
Friends of the Smyrna Library will have their book sale during the Spring Jonquil festival, so plan to get some phenomenal deals on all types of books imaginable.
A crowd favorite, Peter Hart will be bringing his Atlanta Puppet Show to the Spring Jonquil Festival! Peter’s festival puppet show has appeal to everyone in a family audience with unique marionettes and puppet characters that sing, dance, juggle, play fiddle, break apart and come back together, squirt water, and are even launched by catapult across the stage!
J. Scott Thompson one of the founding members of Peachtree Station (voted Atlanta Magazine’s Best Country Band 2000) will entertain you with all your favorite songs on the Village Green lawn adjacent to the Jonquil Food Court.
Be sure to visit the Featured Artists Market from watercolors, folk Jonquil Festival Featured Artistart, pottery, fine jewelry and metal sculpting. Other artisans are from all over the southeast and feature their own hand made crafts, paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry and much more.
The festival foods include: red beans and rice, jambalaya, pizza, cotton candy, gyros, candy apples, corn dogs, hand-dipped ice cream, snow cones, polish sausage, chicken sandwiches, Firehouse Chili, roasted corn and BBQ.
The children’s activities area will have a huge array interactive inflatable activities, City of Smyrna fire truck, sand art.
