Lime Taqueria is a much anticipated new Mexican restaurant slated to open in Smyrna’s West Village in October. The restaurant will be located at the front of the development and should be a great new addition to the West Village portfolio of restaurants. Lime will be offering a unique menu of Mexican specialties with up to 20% of the menu changing daily or weekly.

Rene Diaz, CEO of Diaz Foods, makes his foray into the restaurant business with Lime, but has brought along numerous strategic investors. The executive chef is Oscar Mendivil, who has spent a dozen years with The Ritz-Carlton hotel chain. The general manager is Jesse Diaz, who was assistant GM at Pricci, part of the Buckhead Life Group.

The restaurant is a large open aired space, almost 5,000-square-feet in total. The décor of the 140-seat restaurant is vibrant.

I recently spoke with Jesse Diaz and he’s very excited about the progress of the construction and expects for Lime to be open, hopefully by the middle of October, but no later than the end of October. In the meantime, the executive chef is finalizing the menu and preparing for the opening.

Needless to say, the suspense is killing me.

  1. Does the West Village have a web site listing all the shops etc? If so, what is the link?
