Whitfield Park

Location

Located across the railroad tracks from the Smyrna Market Village, Whitfield Park can be found by turning left onto Old Roswell Road. Go approximately 1/8 mile and make right onto Whitfield Street (@Whitfield Park Sign) and follow Whitfield Street to park on the left. Click here for directions to Whitfield Park.

Description

A great neighborhood playground – very small and sunny, but several trees around the park make for a very tranquil environment – new play structures make it popular for kids of all ages – well-maintained including a recent upgrade to the benches and picnic area – conveniently located to the Smyrna Market Village with plenty of kids shopping and restaurants – the park is dog-friendly – the library and community center are in walking distance and a Publix grocery store is under construction along Atlanta Road in Jonquil Village, which is slated to be completed in the 2009 – friendly atmosphere with lots of neighborhood kid regulars.

If you compare it to the recently redone playgrounds in the Smyrna Vinings area, it may seem a little old. Lots of green space for kids games. If, on a weekend day, you find it tough to keep an eye on the little ones in one of the bigger playgrounds in the area then this is the park to go to.
