2018 Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival

The 2018 Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival returns on Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 29, 2018 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. and will be held on the beautiful Village Green in downtown Smyrna next to the fabulous Smyrna Market Village. The festival has a history of over 28 years and will feature over 175 hand-made arts & crafts booths, 15 festival food booths, local non-profits, sponsors, puppet shows, live music and all types of children’s activities. They will also have local entertainment on the stage in front of the library.

Friends of the Smyrna Library will have their book sale during the Spring Jonquil festival, so plan to get some phenomenal deals on all types of books imaginable.

Interactive Kids Zone: Bring the kids as they are sure to be entertained with a wide variety of inflatable slides, Quad Bungee, Rockwall, bounces and much more.

Grizzly Experience is an educational demonstration. The experience offers an up close and personal look into the life of the Alaskan Grizzly Bear. Throughout the day patrons will witness Tonk, Yogi, and Maggie interacting with their handler and showing the amazing bond between bear and man. Many of the natural behaviors of the bears will be highlighted and bear safety will be discussed and presented. You will learn what to do when you encounter a bear in the wild, learn about bear species in North America and also learn more about how bears are trained for movies.

Robocars: are an unique and fun range of brightly colored, life size, transforming robot vehicles (cars, trucks, motorcycles, and tractors). Operator driven, they walk and drive creating endless excitement and photo opportunities for the whole family.

Adding the right sounds…Scott Thompson for your listening pleasure. J. Scott Thompson one of the founding members of Peachtree Station (voted Atlanta Magazine’s Best Country Band 2000) will entertain you with all your favorite songs on the Veteran’s Memorial grand lawn adjacent to the Spring Jonquil Food Court. Bring a blanket, sing-a-long, and relax in a beautiful setting with the family.

Artisans are from all over the southeast feature their own hand-made crafts, paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry and much more.

The 2018 Smyrna Spring Jonquil Festival foods include: cotton candy, candy apples, corn dogs, hand-dipped ice cream, snow cones, polish sausage, chicken sandwiches, and BBQ.

The festival hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 28th and 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29th. Admission is FREE. Eat delicious food, shop, check out the puppet show, play and then relax on the Village Green lawn. The festival is a wonderful experience for the whole family!

And there’s MORE… Run for fun, education and pie at the Jonquil City Jog 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 28th at 8 a.m. The race starts and ends at Smyrna City Hall next to the Market Village and Village Green.
