2017 Vinings Downhill 5k

The 2017 Vinings Downhill 5k will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2017.

The Vinings Downhill 5K will begin promptly at 8:00 am. This fast 5K course begins at the top of Mt. Wilkerson in Vinings, winds around the Cumberland Mall area, and ends at the Lovett School (280-foot net drop).

The 1K begins at 9am and starts and finishes at the Vinings Jubilee.

The 1K dog dash will begin immediately after the 1K Fun Run starts.

After the 5K you may ride the bus from the Finish Line to Vinings Jubilee for the post race party or you may choose to walk. After the awards ceremony you may ride the bus back to your car or you may walk the 1/2 mile trip. At 8:05a.m., two school buses will transport guest of 5k runners from the start line to Vinings Jubilee or the finish line.

Number & T-Shirt Pickup

Your 2017 Vinings Downhill 5k race number and t-shirt for the 5K, 1K and Dog Dash can be picked up Friday before the race at West Stride from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. or 5K race numbers can be picked up race morning at 7:00 a.m. in front of the Printpack Building. 1K race numbers and Dog Dash may be picked up at Vinings Jubilee at 8:15 a.m.

2017 Vinings Downhill 5k registration will be $30 through July 31st. After July 31st registration will be $35 to sell-out date. After sell out date you can register the Friday before the race at early pick up at West stride running store.  There will be unlimited race day registration at $40. There will be race day registration. To discourage race day registration for this charity event, we will be charging $40 on race day.

2017 Vinings Downhill 5k participants should arrive at 7:00A.M. to ensure a prompt start.

Race party and awards ceremony will be held at Vinings Jubilee – Awards for the M/F Overall, Masters, Grandmasters and the Top 3 place awards in 14 age groups from 10yrs & younger to 70yrs & over. Runners will be electronically timed. All awards will be based on a gun time. (see faq for explanation).  Awards for the M/F Overall, Masters, Grandmasters will receive a trophy. Age group awards will receive a medal. In past year’s all 5k award winners have also received store credits.
