The Atlanta Braves officially open SunTrust Park tonight, April 14, 2017 by hosting the San Diego Padres. The arrival of the Atlanta Braves and the creation of SunTrust Park and the Battery is a momentous occasion for the Smyrna Vinings area and Cobb County.
While there will likely be issues and snafus along the way, there is also a lot of excitement and energy in the air. We look forward to sharing the season with you. First pitch is scheduled for 7:35pm and none other than Hank Aaron will have the honor of throwing the first pitch at the Atlanta Braves play their first game at SunTrust Park.
SunTrust Park will offer an intimate setting of 41,000 seats (20 percent smaller than Turner Field) and is designed to maximize sightlines, making every seat feel like the “best in the house.” With the new ballpark, Braves fans will enjoy the best amenities in all of Major League Baseball, highlighted most in 4,000 premium seats in the SunTrust Club, Delta SKY360 Club and the Terrace Club, which are linked to the best seats in the building.
