Smyrna 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony

Smyrna 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. – On the 11th day of the 11th month at the hour of 11, please join our community in honoring the service of all United States military veterans who have served in times of war and conflict and in times of peace.

Features of the Smyrna 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony included a keynote speaker – Author Alvin Townley and performances by Whitefield Academy Concert Band, Campbell Middle School Choir, and the Campbell High School JROTC.

Author Alvin Townley is the guest speaker.

Townley’s books including Defiant, Fly Navy, Spirit of Adventure and Legacy of Honor have earned praise from The New York Times, Tom Wolfe, Michael Bloomberg, Robert Gates, Peyton Manning, and many others.  He has appeared on CNN, NPR, FOX, USA Today and other local and national media outlets.

A graduate of Washington & Lee University, Townley has worked in Congress and as a global strategist for a top international consulting firm.  He currently serves as a leadership consultant and  director of corporate philanthropy and veterans programs at Atlanta’s Woodruff Arts Center.

In case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside at the Smyrna Community Center.

The Smyrna 2016 Veterans Day Ceremony is scheduled to take place at the 20th Century Veterans Memorial at the corner of Bank and King Streets, near City Hall (use 2800 King Street, Smyrna Ga 30080 for internet directions).
