The 2016 Spring Jonquil Festival returns on Saturday, April 23,  2016 from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sunday, April 24, 2016 from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. and will be held on the beautiful Village Green in downtown Smyrna next to the fabulous Smyrna Market Village. The festival has a history of over 27 years and will feature over 175 hand-made arts & crafts booths, 15 festival food booths, local non-profits, sponsors, puppet shows, live music and all types of children’s activities. They will also have local entertainment on the stage in front of the library.

Friends of the Smyrna Library will have their book sale during the Spring Jonquil festival, so plan to get some phenomenal deals on all types of books imaginable.

Robinson’s Racing Pigs and Paddling Porkers Show (new in 2016): You are sure to squeal with excitement as you cheer on the pigs racing for the grand prize of an Oreo! You never know who might win, Brittany Spare Rib is always a favorite, but when it comes to the swimming swine, SPAMOO is the toughest one to beat.

Tenasity Dog Agility Demonstrations (new in 2016): Tenasity Canine Behavior Specialists will have a Dog Agility Demonstration area for anyone who wants to see if their pooch can complete the course. This is sure to be lots of fun for pets and their owners alike! (Various times throughout the day.)

Brian Ruth Master of the Chainsaw: Watch the Master of the Chainsaw– Brian Ruth as he transforms a three-foot log in to an incredible piece of art. His art will be auctioned off each day at 4:30 p.m., come own these one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Show times: 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

A crowd favorite, Peter Hart will be bringing his Atlanta Puppet Show to the Spring Jonquil Festival! Peter’s festival puppet show has appeal to everyone in a family audience with unique marionettes and puppet characters that sing, dance, juggle, play fiddle, break apart and come back together, squirt water, and are even launched by catapult across the stage!

Adding the right sounds…Scott Thompson for your listening pleasure. J. Scott Thompson one of the founding members of Peachtree Station (voted Atlanta Magazine’s Best Country Band 2000) will entertain you with all your favorite songs on the Village Green lawn adjacent to the Jonquil Food Court.

Artisans are from all over the southeast feature their own hand-made crafts, paintings, clothing, furniture, jewelry and much more.

The festival foods include: cotton candy, candy apples, corn dogs, hand-dipped ice cream, snow cones, polish sausage, chicken sandwiches, and BBQ.

The huge interactive children’s area includes big and small inflatable activities, sand art, and more. So whether it’s your child or the child in you, there are plenty of food and activities for the whole family to enjoy.

The festival hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 23rd and 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 24th. Admission is FREE. Eat delicious food, shop, check out the puppet show, play and then relax on the Village Green lawn. The festival is a wonderful experience for the whole family!

And there’s MORE… Run for fun, education and pie at the Jonquil City Jog 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 23rd at 8 a.m. The race starts and ends at Smyrna City Hall next to the Market Village and Village Green.
