Chattahoochee River Paddle at Riverview Landing

Chattahoochee River Paddle at Riverview Landing. Join the Georgia Conservancy, Chattahoochee Now and REI for a relaxing flat water paddle on the beautiful and resurgent Chattahoochee River on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Guests will meet at Riverview Landing, just outside the perimeter and paddle the beautiful 11-mile stretch of river to the DNR boat ramp near Sweetwater Creek State Park.

While underutilized by outdoor recreation enthusiasts, this stretch of river offers Metro Atlanta paddlers some of the best access to flat water padding in the region. Guests can choose between bringing their own canoe or kayak or renting a kayak from REI (a limited number of kayaks are available, so register fast!)

Chattahoochee Now and the Georgia Conservancy will be hosting an after-paddle campfire party at Riverview Landing featuring a riverside cookout, live music from City Mouse and complementary SweetWater Brewing Company beer. The after-paddle party is open to the public with a donation of $10 a person.

Registration includes shuttle service*, guide service and a complementary invitation to the after-paddle party at Riverview Landing.

Itinerary:

We will be meeting at The Market at Riverview Landing (6269 Riverview Road, SE | Mableton, GA) at 2:00 p.m. for orientation and an overview of the paddle. We will arrive at the Highway 166 Bridge around 5:00 p.m. and shuttle back to Riverview Landing. Ice cold SweetWater beer and water will be immediately available. The cookout and live music will get started around 6:00 p.m.
For folks interested in shuttling their own boats earlier in the afternoon, meet Riverview Landing at 1:00 p.m., drop off boats and we will car pool to the DNR Boat Ramp at Highway 166, drop off cars and head back to Riverview. This is the suggested option for anyone bringing their own boats so we don’t have to run a second shuttle once we get off the river.
