Where will you be watching your Fourth of July fireworks celebration? As I’m sure you know, Smyrna Vinings does not hold their own fireworks show on July 4th. Our big fireworks show comes up during the upcoming Smyrna Birthday celebration on Saturday, August 2nd. So if you’re wanting a fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day, here are some of the options in metro Atlanta.

54th Annual Legendary 4th at Lenox Square Mall

For over half a century, Lenox Square has celebrated red, white and blue in grand tradition with activities for the entire family. This year’s activities will include the largest fireworks display in the Southeast, musical entertainment and food concessions. For the second year, Lenox Square will host its talent search…, ‘Atlanta’s Next Star,’ where the crowned winner will perform in front of crowds filled with family and friends. Culminating the evening will be the signature fireworks display, featuring thousands of fireworks bursting in air for approximately 20 minutes, accompanied by a patriotic musical soundtrack. Lenox Square’s legendary celebration is free and open to the public. Headlining the evening will be Atlanta’s premier cover band, Party on the Moon, taking the stage at 7:30 and playing until the fireworks show begins. Winner of Lenox Square’s talent search, Atlanta’s Next Star opens the show and Journey tribute band, Departure, will perform at 6:45 p.m. Lenox Square shops and restaurants are open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Fireworks scheduled to begin at approximately 9:40 p.m.

4th of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park

Centennial Olympic Park’s 4th of July Celebration is a downtown Atlanta staple on Independence Day. The Park’s largest event of the year provides visitors and residents alike with the best concert and fireworks in the city. Live, family-friendly entertainment performs in the late afternoon and the evening concludes with an impressive fireworks display that lights up the beautiful, downtown Atlanta skyline. Each year, thousands of people come to the Park to celebrate Independence Day. MARTA is strongly encouraged for transportation. Arrive at the Park early to get a good seat and enjoy fun for the whole family.

Park gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks start at approximately 9:40 p.m. The finale of the evening is Centennnial Olympic Park’s Fireworks Spectacular, Atlanta’s best fireworks display synchronized to a special selection of patriotic and popular music.

Decatur’s Pied Piper Parade, Concert & Fireworks on the 4th

Join Decatur’s July 4th Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown Decatur. Decorate your wagon, ride your bike, skate, or walk in this event. The City Commissioners will lead the parade in the mini-firetruck. Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to make floats and join the fun. Parade line-up is at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m. The concert, featuring the Callanwolde Concert Band, begins at 7 p.m. in the Community Bandstand. Fireworks begin at dark (approximately 9 p.m.) and are shot from the top of the DeKalb County parking deck.

Roswell’s 15th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza

Show your patriotism by celebrating our Country’s Independence Day in Roswell with entertainment and a breathtaking fireworks display. This year’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Sweet Apple Elementary School located on 12025 Etris Road, Roswell, GA 30075. Food trucks will be present, but there will not be any bands, games or inflatables this year due to limited space. Bring your chairs, blankets and picnics for an old fashion family outing. Fireworks will start at dark (around 9:30 p.m.) and can be viewed around Sweet Apple Elementary School, between Sweet Apple Park and Publix Shopping Center, and at North River Baptist Church.

July 4th Festivities and Fireworks at Wills Park in Alpharetta

Celebrate Independence Day with family and friends at Wills Park. Festivities begin @ 5:30pm on the lawn behind Alpharetta Community Center as the American Heritage Society of Georgia present historical information on the importance and meaning of Independence Day. Musical entertainment by the Alpharetta City Band and local band Serious Business will follow. Children’s inflatables will be on the lawn from 6pm to 9pm. There will be a nominal fee for inflatables. Food vendors will be located throughout Wills Park from 6pm to 9pm, or bring your own picnic. The spectacular fireworks display begins at dusk!

Red, White and Brew Beer Fest at the Georgia Aquarium

Celebrate 4th of July this year in Georgia Aquarium’s Oceans Ballroom with unlimited beer sampling, live music from The Geeks, a full BBQ dinner buffet, OMG photo booth sponsored by PGi, caricature artists and more! At the end of the night, join us on the top of our Parking Deck for the city’s BEST view of the Centennial Olympic Park’s firework show. All this while raising money for our Sponsored Education Admissions program, teacher development and summer camps! Tickets are $45 per member / $55 per non-member.

Marietta Fourth of July Celebration on the Marietta Square

The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins Friday, July 4, 2014 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.

Stone Mountain Park: 46th Annual Fantastic Fourth Celebration

Fantastic Fourth Celebration was voted the Best Place to see Fireworks in Atlanta by Atlanta Journal-Constitution readers, a Must-See Fireworks Show by USA Today and one of Reader’s Digest’s picks for America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks. Enjoy the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision each night on July 3rd-5th followed by a special, patriotic fireworks finale on each night! Included with $10 daily parking permit or $35 annual parking permit.

Sandy Springs Stars and Stripes Celebration

Mark your calendar for this Saturday, July 5, 2014, for the Sandy Springs community fireworks display at the Concourse Corporate Center lawn. The band, Shiloh, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will begin at 9:45 p.m. Residents are encouraged to pack a snack, bring a blanket, and enjoy an evening under the stars as fireworks illuminate the sky above the iconic King and Queen buildings. Water stations will be located throughout the Concourse lawn. Pets, tents, outdoor cooking and personal-use sparklers will not be permitted.
