Where will you be watching your Fourth of July fireworks celebration? As I’m sure you know, Smyrna Vinings does not hold their own fireworks show on July 4th. Our big fireworks show comes up during the upcoming Smyrna Birthday celebration on Saturday, August 3rd. So if you’re wanting a fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day, here are some of the options in metro Atlanta.

Legendary 4th at Lenox Square Mall

As cities across the U.S. host July 4th fireworks extravaganzas, Atlanta’s Lenox Square is home to the Southeast’s largest celebration, attracting more than 200,000 people annually. Lenox Square’s annual event is patriotic fun with family-friendly live musical entertainment on the mall’s outdoor main stage. Culminating the evening will be the signature fireworks display, featuring thousands of fireworks bursting in air for approximately 20 minutes, accompanied by a patriotic musical soundtrack. Lenox Square’s legendary celebration is free and open to the public. Headlining the evening will be Atlanta’s premier cover band, Party on the Moon, taking the stage at 7:30 and playing until the fireworks show begins. Local band Sons of Sailors will kick off the freedom festivities from 6-7:15 p.m. Lenox Square shops and restaurants are open from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Musical entertainment from Sons of Sailors and Party on the Moon begins at 6 p.m. Fireworks scheduled to begin at approximately 9:35 p.m.

4th of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park

Come celebrate Centennial Olympic Park’s 4th of July Celebration with a night of fun and entertainment for the entire family,including downtown Atlanta’s best fireworks display. Park gates open at 6 p.m. and fireworks start at approximately 9:40 p.m. The finale of the evening is Centennnial Olympic Park’s Fireworks Spectacular, Atlanta’s best fireworks display synchronized to a special selection of patriotic and popular music.

Decatur’s Pied Piper Parade, Concert & Fireworks on the 4th

Join Decatur’s July 4th Pied Piper Parade as it winds through downtown Decatur. Decorate your wagon, ride your bike, skate, or walk in this event. The City Commissioners will lead the parade in the mini-firetruck. Neighborhoods and organizations are encouraged to make floats and join the fun. Parade line-up is at the First Baptist Church of Decatur at 5:30 p.m. The parade begins at 6 p.m. The concert, featuring the Callanwolde Concert Band, begins at 7 p.m. in the Community Bandstand. Fireworks begin at dark (approximately 9 p.m.) and are shot from the top of the DeKalb County parking deck.

Roswell’s 14th Annual Fireworks Extravaganza

Show your patriotism by celebrating our Country’s Independence Day in Roswell with entertainment and a breathtaking fireworks display. This year’s July 4th Fireworks Extravaganza will take place at Roswell High School located on King Road off of SR 92. Entertainment begins at 6 p.m. with Big Biscuit, followed by Banks & Shane at 7:30. At dark, a beautiful 30-minute fireworks display will be the highlight of the evening. Bring your chairs, blankets and picnics for an old fashion family outing.

July 4th Festivities and Fireworks at Wills Park in Alpharetta

Celebrate Independence Day with family and friends at Wills Park on Thursday, July 4, 2013! The City of Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department will provide free entertainment such as: Inflatable’s, face painting, and Games 2 U from 6pm to 9pm on the lawn behind the Alpharetta Community Center (175 Roswell Street). Food vendors such as Mac the Cheese Truck, The Fry Guy, Dippin’ Dots, Yum Yum Cupcakes, Great American Cookie Company, Shane’s Rib Shack, The Bubble Tea Truck, S & J Woodfire Pizza, Seven Seas Mediterranean Cafe, Kona Ice, Menchie’s Windward, Repicci’s Italian Ice, Good Eats Concession, & Granny’s Old Fashioned Lemonade will also be present. Food vendors will only accept cash. The Alpharetta City Band will perform beginning at 6pm on the event lawn followed by a local band, Serious Business. The spectacular fireworks display begins at dusk!

Red, White and Brew Beer Fest at the Georgia Aquarium

This Fourth of July, celebrate this All-American holiday with awesome beer, food, live music and fun! Red White & Brew, which benefits Georgia Aquarium’s education initiatives, will be hosted in Oceans Ballroom and on the Aquarium’s parking deck rooftop with the city’s best views of the Centennial Olympic Park firework show. Sample an unlimited amount of beer and enjoy classic 4th of July fare at the coolest location in the city to view the Centennial Olympic Park firework show. We’ll have live music by Yacht Rock Schooner, a photo booth by OMG Booth and other fun surprises! Tickets are $55 per person.

Marietta Fourth of July Celebration on the Marietta Square

The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. and includes a parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.

Stone Mountain Park: 46th Annual Fantastic Fourth Celebration

Fantastic Fourth Celebration was voted the Best Place to see Fireworks in Atlanta by Atlanta Journal-Constitution readers, a Must-See Fireworks Show by USA Today and one of Reader’s Digest’s picks for America’s Most Spectacular Fourth of July Fireworks. Enjoy the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision each night on July 4th-6th followed by a special, patriotic fireworks finale on each night! Included with $10 daily parking permit or $35 annual parking permit.

Sandy Springs Stars and Stripes Celebration

On July 6th, stars and sparklers will illuminate across the skies of Sandy Springs as the community comes together in celebration of our nation’s Independence Day. Music from the band, Shiloh, will begin at 7:30 p.m. Fireworks will dazzle the skies beginning at 9:45 p.m.viewing will be at Concourse Corporate Center: Five Concourse Parkway. Residents are encouraged to pack a snack, bring a blanket, and enjoy an evening under the stars. Water stations will be located throughout the Concourse viewing area. Pets, tents, outdoor cooking and personal-use sparklers will not be permitted.
