As most of you know, Smyrna Vinings does not hold their own fireworks show on July 4th. Our big fireworks show comes up during the upcoming Smyrna Birthday celebration on Saturday, August 6th. So if you’re wanting a fireworks show to celebrate Independence Day, here are some of the options in metro Atlanta.
Legendary 4th at Lenox Square Mall
There will be live musical entertainment on the mall’s outdoor main stage, Adidas Independence Day Tent Sale, Taste Of the 4th, and Family Carnival areas. A1A, known as The Official and Original Jimmy Buffet Tribute Show, takes the stage at 6:00 p.m., followed by Party on the Moon at 7:30 p.m. The fireworks display starts at approximately 9:40 p.m.
4th of July Celebration at Centennial Olympic Park
Gates open at 2 p.m., with activities including face painting, stilt walkers, and more, and you can relax on the Great Lawn or cool off in the Fountain of Rings. The free musical entertainment begins at approximately at 4 p.m. with von Grey, followed by The Regulars Band at 5 p.m., theKey at 6:30 p.m., and Crystal Bowersox at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks display will be synchronized to a special selection of patriotic and popular music.
Decatur’s Pied Piper Parade, Concert & Fireworks on the 4th
Decatur’s 4th of July Pied Piper parade sounds like fun. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. and winds its way through downtown Decatur. Participants include you, and anyone else who chooses to follow along with their decorated bicycles, skateboards, wagons, etc, as it passes by. The Callanwolde Concert Band performs at 7:00 p.m. at the Community Bandstand, and the fireworks display starts at dark.
July 4th Festivities and Fireworks at Wills Park in Alpharetta
There’ll be free children’s activities from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. The live music starts at 6:00 p.m. with the Alpharetta City Band, followed by Serious Business at 7:00 p.m. The fireworks show begins at dusk.
Red, White and Brew Beer Fest at the Georgia Aquarium
The Georgia Aquarium is hosting a Fourth of July celebration and beer tasting on the roof of their parking deck, giving you a prime viewing spot for the Centennial Park fireworks. There will be Jim & Nick’s barbecue and live music provided by The Yacht Rock Revue. Tickets are $45 per person.
Marietta Fourth of July Celebration on the Marietta Square
The city of Marietta’s Fourth in the Park celebration begins at 10 a.m. in the Marietta Square and includes the Marietta Freedom parade, free live concerts, museum tours, arts and crafts show, food, carnival games and fireworks finale.
Woodruff Arts Center: All-American Celebration with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Raise your flag with an exciting evening of patriotic sing-alongs, Tchaikovsky’s stirring 1812 Overture, and a jaw-dropping fireworks show. Conductor Bridget Reichl returns after last season’s triumphant performance.
Stone Mountain Park: 44th Annual Fantastic Fourth Celebration
Stone Mountain Park has been hosting a July 4th celebration for nearly half a century. New this year: Lasershow Spectacular has been enhanced with MountainVision, so what better time to go? The laser show will immediately be followed by fireworks. Note that park could close admission to visitors early if parking capacity is reached. Lasershow Spectacular begins nightly at 9:30 pm.
