New Hours and Fees for Open Gym Basketball and Fitness Area
The City of Smyrna has implemented a new fee schedule for use of the fitness area and basketball gymnasiums at the Smyrna Community Center. For either of these activities, residents may pay $2 daily, $5 monthly, $15 quarterly, or $50 annually. A higher rate applies for non-residents. To receive the resident discount, a resident ID card must be purchased at an annual cost of $5. Use of the walking track remains free of charge.
On August 2, 2010, open gym basketball hours were expanded. Open gym sessions now include designated opportunities for Adults 17 and older (A), Youth 16 and under (Y), Family (F), and Women only (W). The new schedule is as follows:
Mon-Thurs, 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m. (A) – large gym
Mon-Thurs, 11:00 a.m. -2:00 p.m. (A) – large gym
Mon-Thurs, 3:00 p.m.- 5:30 p.m. (Y) – large gym
Mon-Tues, 3:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (F) – small gym
Sunday, 4:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (F, W) – large gym
