The Vinings Business Association (VBA) has named SOHO restaurant as its 2009 Vinings Business of the Year.

In making the announcement during the monthly 1st Tuesday luncheon held January 5th at Social Vinings restaurant, VBA President Bill Borden said, “We want to congratulate SOHO and owners Frank and Susan Smith for their outstanding commitment to the Vinings community and for their continued growth in this area. They have shown leadership in the community, besides being in the restaurant business and we recognize their achievements.”

SOHO opened in Vinings in 1997 as an upscale wine bar and restaurant and also contributes to the community with Home Depot in a joint venture to aid the Leukemia Society and annually hosts the Vinings Historical Preservation Society’s Golf Tournament Preview Party. Frank Smith said, “Thank you to the Vinings Business Association for this honor, we have enjoyed serving and living in the Vinings community and will continue to be a part of this area for a long time.”

The winner was presented with a customer-designed crystal flame statue with an engraved plaque, which was contributed by Don Lillie, of Lillie Glass Blowers in Smyrna.

Also during the luncheon, Cobb County District 2 Commissioner Bob Ott gave an update on events, government activities and 2010 growth plans for the area.

SOHO is located in Vinings Village at 4300 Paces Ferry Rd SE, Atlanta, GA 30339.
